Adjunct Part-Time Faculty, Social Sciences

Job Summary

North West Arkansas Community College (NWACC) seeks qualified part‑time and/or substitute instructors to teach courses in History, Political Science, Philosophy, and Geography on a term‑by‑term basis.

Positions are available days, evenings, and weekends. Part‑time positions do not constitute an immediate hire and are a resource for departments to meet immediate teaching needs.

Rate: $765 per credit hour.

• Master’s Degree and a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the discipline.
• College‑level teaching experience.
• Demonstrated teaching ability (top priority).
• Instructional and/or leadership experience at a community college (priority).
• Experience with leadership at a community college or educational institution (plus).
• Ability to use an online platform; online delivery of instruction.
• Use of technology for instruction and experience or interest in project‑based, service‑learning, or inquiry‑based learning is given special consideration.

Teach courses in the disciplines listed above on a term‑by‑term basis. Prepare and deliver instruction via online or hybrid platforms as appropriate. Meet department and institutional quality standards for teaching.

• Frequently: manipulate items with fingers (keyboard), sitting, standing, walking.
• Constantly: hearing, repetitive motion, talking.
• Visual acuity required for reading, viewing a computer terminal, and visual inspection at close distances.
