Job Summary / Purpose
Responsible for engineering design and support for power distribution. Performs a wide variety of planning, maintenance, and design engineering activities related to routine, non-routine, and emergency restoration duties. Project areas may include grid/system design, operations and maintenance, planning, asset management, reliability, computer applications, safety, and root cause failure analysis.

GEE. - Identify and develop a plan to correct Un‑Balanced loads on distribution circuits.
- Develop settings, program, and size all field equipment including but not limited to Reclosers, Fuses, Capacitors, and Regulators.
- Review all new distributed energy resource technical documents and customer equipment to ensure compliance with Entergy’s standards and policies.
- Perform Root Cause Failure Analysis on failures with unknown causes.
- Develop planned switching orders for the network.
- Troubleshoot power quality issues.
- Provide technical guidance to the Engineering Associates and local area line groups.
- Create, review, and recommend for approval electrical designs that meet customer needs, comply with company standards and enhance the overall system performance and reliability.
- Participate in meetings with external customers, architects, developers, contractors and government entities to communicate standards and guidelines.
- Perform engineering calculations to aid in planning and corrective measure projects.
- Assist with storm restoration efforts both local and out of town.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Discipline (typically Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Industrial) from a four‑year accredited institution. Degrees in engineering technology from a four‑year accredited institution with PE may be considered. Preferred:
Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil.
- Engineer I – 0 to 2 years experience in an engineering discipline.
- Engineer II – 2+ years experience in an engineering discipline.
- Engineer III – 4+ years experience in an engineering discipline.
- Engineer Sr – 6+ years experience in an engineering discipline.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledgeable of engineering principles; ability to understand and comply with procedures, programs, and standards in the responsible area; good leadership, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills; excellent math skills; project management skills; computer operation skills; familiarity with National Electrical Safety Codes and National Electrical Code; ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities; work well under pressure;
follow all Entergy safety policies; recognize hazards; provide high level of customer service; inclusive workplace; process improvement.
Certificates & Licenses: Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Working ConditionsMust be available for 24‑hour call‑out and extended hours as necessary. Employees may be required to work in alternate locations and perform additional duties during storms, outages, emergencies, or other situations as needed. Exempt employees may not be paid overtime for such duties.
