Position

Site Construction Support Specialist (Electrical) – Jefferson, AR.

Job Summary

Construction Support Specialist shall provide construction support for technical field oversight and performance to ensure work is being performed in compliance with OSHA regulations, all state and local codes, accepted industry standards, client policies and procedures, and the service agreement.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in all EHS activities and reporting.
  • Assist in monitoring the safety, environmental, and quality management of the work.
  • Represent the Owner in the field and coordinate with the EPC contractor to ensure construction and commissioning work is performed in accordance with project documents, codes, and good industry practice.
  • Review engineering drawings.
  • Participate in and lead meetings with the client project team and EPC.
  • Provide input to daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
  • Manage and resolve issues and non-conformances.
  • Support and drive issue resolution and lessons learned.
  • Act as the Owner’s Quality Assurance and perform routine audits of the EPC QA/QC program.
  • Document findings in the field through field observation reports.
  • Participate in and lead system turnover walkdowns and verification.
  • Assist Owner Project Controls in project quantity tracking and progress reporting.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or the equivalent.
  • Associate’s Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering/Engineering Technology preferred.
  • More than ten (10) years of experience in the Electric Utility Transmission, Distribution, Substation, or Nuclear facilities industry (or other similar plant industries).
  • Ten (10) or more years of experience with equipment and/or systems installation and commissioning at industrial facilities.
  • Knowledge of, and ability to interpret and cite, OSHA regulations and provide guidance to construction crews and upper management on their proper application in the workplace.
Working Conditions
  • Work is primarily conducted at project construction sites within the utility company service area (may require occasional travel to other service areas). Jobs may include electric substations, transmission, and distribution lines.
  • Interaction with team members, supervisors, and client personnel.
  • Must wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
  • May be required to be at more than one job site in a day and must tolerate climate changes.

  • Must be able to lift and carry twenty (20) pounds.
  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity, with or without reasonable accommodation, to perform routine office duties.
  • Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform office duties and travel to off-site locations when necessary.
