Job Summary / PurposeAsset Management Engineers play a pivotal role in shaping Entergy’s long‑term strategy for all distribution assets. This high‑impact, high‑energy position is designed for self‑motivated engineers who enjoy tackling complex challenges, driving innovation, and taking ownership of meaningful work. Rather than simply managing programs, this role operates as part of a collaborative team of experts responsible for developing a comprehensive, data‑driven asset strategy.
Engineers in this role leverage emerging technologies—including geospatial modeling, imagery analytics, and AI‑enabled insights—to improve system reliability, reduce operational risk, and build the next generation of Entergy’s infrastructure strategy. The position works closely with Reliability, Planning, Design, Standards, Transmission, and Vegetation Management partners to align on a holistic reliability approach.
- Perform detailed engineering analyses across planning, maintenance, design, project execution, and operations to support Entergy’s long‑term asset strategy.
- Apply strong engineering fundamentals, technical judgment, and business awareness to develop cost‑effective, technically sound solutions that enhance system performance.
- Utilize advanced analytical tools—including geospatial modeling, imagery processing, and AI‑based evaluation techniques—to assess asset conditions, identify risks, and recommend targeted improvements.
- Participate in outage causal analysis and system performance reviews to identify reliability trends, optimize maintenance approaches, and reduce operational risk.
- Collaborate with Transmission, Vegetation Management, Planning, Design, and Standards groups to ensure consistent alignment across the broader reliability strategy.
- Support compliance with applicable standards, utility regulations, and industry best practices.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and evolution of reliability and maintenance programs for poles, overhead/underground equipment, inspections, and system improvement initiatives.
- Engage in storm and emergency restoration activities as needed.
Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Industrial) from a four‑year accredited institution.
Degrees in engineering technology (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Industrial) from a four‑year accredited institution with professional engineer (PE) status may also be considered.
Minimum ExperienceEngineer I – 0+ years in an engineering discipline.
Engineer II – 2+ years in an engineering discipline.
Engineer III – 4+ years in an engineering discipline.
Engineer Sr – 6+ years in an engineering discipline.
Preferred:
Planning, Field, or Reliability engineering experience.
- Demonstrated ability to apply engineering principles.
- Thorough understanding of procedures, programs, and standards in the responsible area.
- Consistently demonstrates good engineering judgment.
- Good leadership, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent math and project management skills.
- Proficiency with personal computer operations and related software.
- Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities.
- Ability to work well under pressure and respond to additional work hours, alternate locations, and duties during storms, outages, emergencies.
- Requirement to work safely and follow all Entergy safety policies and procedures, recognize hazards, and mitigate them.
- Demonstrated acceptance of a diverse and inclusive work environment and customer base.
- Ability to recognize opportunities for process improvement and enact change.
Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
