Senior Power Systems Engineer
The Senior Power Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of electrical infrastructure, equipment, and systems within a manufacturing or industrial facility. The role ensures safe and efficient operation, supports production goals, and maintains compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities- Design and maintain electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, control systems and hazardous area equipment.
- Plan, budget and oversee electrical projects from concept through commissioning, including procurement, funding requests and vendor coordination.
- Conduct energy audits, short‑circuit calculations, protective device coordination, and arc‑flash hazard evaluations.
- Develop preventive maintenance programs and modernisation plans; maintain documentation such as schematics, wiring diagrams and maintenance logs.
- Respond to facility emergencies, coordinate corrective actions and recommend improvements to reduce operational costs.
- Collaborate with mechanical, process and automation engineers on cross‑functional projects and coordinate with Schneider Electric engineering teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- PE license preferred
; knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70E and Arc Flash standards is a plus.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, PLC programming and SCADA systems.
- Familiarity with electrical distribution equipment from 15kV to 120/208V (switch gear, switchboards, relays, panel boards, motor controls, VFDs, distribution cabinets).
- Experience with ETAP or similar power‑system analysis software for arc‑flash studies.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication, teamwork and project management abilities.
- Industrial plants such as pharmaceutical, automotive, chemical, food processing and energy sectors.
- High‑noise, high‑voltage and fast‑paced conditions; occasional travel may be required.
USD 101,600 - USD 152,400 per year (salary range includes base pay and short‑term incentives).
