Operations and Maintenance Manager

Calpine Corporation seeks a Manager Operations & Maintenance to lead safe, reliable, and efficient operation of its power generation assets. In this on-site role, you will oversee daily plant operations, direct preventive and corrective maintenance, and manage a multidisciplinary O&M team. You will use performance data to optimize availability, support outage planning and upgrades, and ensure strict compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

The role includes budget and contractor oversight, driving continuous improvement, and supporting Calpine's mission of delivering cleaner, dependable energy.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and maintenance of power generation facilities to ensure reliability and safety
• Implement and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance programs for equipment and systems
• Lead, develop, and schedule O&M staff, fostering a culture of safety and accountability
• Track plant performance metrics and use data to optimize efficiency and reduce downtime
• Coordinate with engineering, market operations, and environmental teams on outages and upgrades
• Ensure compliance with environmental, regulatory, and corporate safety standards
• Manage O&M budgets, contracts, and vendors to control costs and support asset reliability
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and root-cause analyses for equipment failures
• Prepare and present reports on asset performance, risks, and improvement plans to leadership
• Support emergency response, incident investigations, and corrective action implementation
