Position: Alcohol and Drug Abuse Control Officer with Security Clearance
Duties
* Advise or counsel subordinates on work and administrative matters.
* Communicate policy, directives, regulations, and authoritative guidelines regarding program implementation to subordinates.
* Evaluate agency-wide training requirements developed to meet regulatory criteria.
* Analyze training and development policies, programs, or resources to develop strategies that meet annual requirements efficiently.
* Meet with participants in community organizations to hear their perspective on program effectiveness or deficiencies.
* Evaluate prevention programs to ensure regulatory compliance.
* Provide guidance and direction to program managers.
* Prepare program reports to meet regulatory requirements. Requirements Conditions of employment

* TDY travel may occasionally be required.
* Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
* This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
* This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed. Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations (e.g., professional;

philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is . Basic Requirement for Alcohol and Drug Abuse Control Officer:

A. Degree:
Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines appropriate to the position, such as Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work. OR

B. Combination of

Education and Experience:

A combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR

C.

Experience:

Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized

Experience:

One year of specialized experience which includes
1) administering substance abuse prevention programs;
2) providing training regarding substance abuse programs;
3) preparing reports and assisting with briefing senior leadership on matters pertaining to employee programs; and
4) planning for and developing budgets according to guidelines. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or above). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Education FOREIGN

EDUCATION:

If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
