What You Should Know About the Bronchoscopy Lab- PFT Respiratory Therapist:- Monday
- Friday:
Typical hours 6:30- 3:00. No weekends or call. - This position is based within Jefferson Regional Respiratory Therapy Department
The Bronchoscopy Lab – PFT respiratory therapist oversees the day-to-day operations and scheduling of bronchoscopy and pulmonary function testing procedures. They are responsible for assisting in various diagnostic, interventional, and therapeutic bronchoscopy procedures as well as performing routine and provocation pulmonary function testing on inpatient and outpatient referrals. Additionally, they work with a multidisciplinary team to include Pulmonologists, nurses, CRNA’s, and cytologists.

Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required. Technical, Associate, or Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
- Graduate for an AMA approved Respiratory Therapy program
- Current license with the Arkansas State Medical Board and Registered through the Nation Board of Respiratory Care
- 2+ years of respiratory therapy experience
- Regulatory Requirements: BLS required upon hire or before patient care, ACLS required within 6 months of hire, PALS/NRP preferred
- Experience in critical care areas
- Experience with Microsoft office
- Must be self-motivated, have the ability to work independently, maintain a high level of accuracy, and have the ability to handle confidential material
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and other respiratory therapists.
- Assess patient needs and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Experience performing pulmonary function testing preferred
- Experience assisting with bronchoscopy procedures preferred
