- Support the Clinic, CLIA Lab Director, and manager regarding laboratory, pathology, and radiology operations
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Pine Bluff Laboratory
- Actively supervise technical staff
- Perform moderate-complexity testing procedures
- Ensure approved policies and procedures are implemented and followed
- Document deviations, initiate investigations, identify corrective actions, and assist with quality assurance
- Maintain competency across all bench areas and provide coverage when needed
- Coordinate daily laboratory and radiology activities, including scheduling, workflows, inventory management, and new testing evaluation and implementation
- Ensure instruments and testing platforms are maintained and functioning properly
- Ensure quality assurance and quality control are completed and acceptable before patient testing
- Ensure CLIA and other regulatory requirements are met
- Assess staff competency and oversee new-employee training
- Provide coaching and disciplinary actions as appropriate with HR and the department manager
- Write and revise policies and procedures
- Adapt departmental workflows to changing demands and patient needs
- Maintain communication with laboratory leadership, nursing, and infection prevention staff
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Technology, or other ASCP approved discipline
- Two (2) years of lead clinical laboratory experience
- MLS/MT ASCP certification or equivalent
- Experience with CLIA requirements
- Persons must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
- Annual TB screening, criminal background check, and substance abuse testing
- Preferred:
Five (5) years general laboratory experience with current instrumentation - Preferred:
Experience with COLA, LIS systems, Microsoft Office programs, inventory control, pulling data, and creating reports
Demonstrates expertise in laboratory operations, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance, with a strong focus on staff supervision and training. Proficient in managing workflows, inventory control, and implementing testing procedures in accordance with CLIA standards.
