What’s the position?

The Trading Origination team is a recently formed group responsible for pricing provided by our in-house models. As the Manager for MLB within Trading Origination, you will be the go-to expert on the trading dynamics of Baseball. Reporting to the Senior Manager, your primary focus will be driving excellent performance, ensuring we deliver accurate, competitive and profitable markets. While our models and automation will produce the core prices, you will provide oversight, guidance, and judgment to ensure trading activity aligns with business objectives.

Success in this role means more than execution — it requires identifying opportunities, understanding the evolution of game strategy, and acting upon emerging patterns to optimize our trading models. By combining a commercial mindset with collaboration and innovation, you will help shape a best-in-class sports book that anticipates customer needs and adapts to the ever-changing dynamics of sport.

The role also includes being the leader of a small team of traders. This would involve coaching and development, exhibiting Hard Rock Digital’s high standards for performance and ensuring we always deliver with pinpoint accuracy.

The position is primarily remote but will involve regular in-person sessions for team collaboration, training, and strategic planning. These sessions are central to building alignment, developing talent, and ensuring the Trading Origination team functions as a high-performance unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of the trading tools, interfaces, markets and customer experience for our in-house MLB product
  • Leading on competitor analysis and benchmarking, identifying opportunities to improve our competitiveness and product appeal
  • Collaborate with the product and marketing teams to improve engagement
  • Champion automation and algorithmic innovation in our Baseball trading models to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Work with data science teams to leverage trading and user data to evaluate performance, identify behavioral trends and refine our algorithms
  • Ensure regulatory requirements and responsible gambling standards are met across all trading activity
  • Manage and mentor a small team of traders, setting clear expectations for performance, development, and accountability
  • Provide coaching and structured feedback to help traders grow their technical, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Participate in regular in-person sessions with your team for collaboration, training, and strategic planning

What are we looking for?

  • Exceptional knowledge of MLB
  • A solid understanding of probability and betting odds, ideally with significant industry experience in a Trading department
  • Analytical and data-fluent, with the ability to understand, validate, and explain pricing model outputs
  • Able to confidently make real-time decisions on model adjustments, edge cases, and trading overrides
  • Commercial mindset with focus on accuracy, competitiveness, and long-term profitability
  • Comfortable with working weekends and evenings to meet the requirements of the business and the sporting calendar
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working cross-functionally
  • Leadership and mentoring skills, with ability to build culture and capability within a team
  • Willingness to travel regularly for in-person sessions with the team
