Articulate is looking for a Senior Design System Engineer II to join our amazing team!

As a Senior Design System Engineer at Articulate, you’ll work closely with a talented team of engineers and designers to build an internal design system that accelerates all of Articulate’s product development. You'll be responsible for large tasks and collaborating with teammates across multiple product teams to develop the right solutions.

What you'll do:

Help drive technical direction for the design system
Work with the design system team engineers and designers to set the design system roadmap and create component designs that meet product teams’ needs
Build and maintain components that are easy for product teams to adopt and use
Collaborate closely with product team designers and engineers to make sure the design system suits their needs
Be part of a growing remote-first company with a world-class culture
Be responsible for making effective use of your time, focusing on quality results instead of effort

What you should have:

8+ years of experience working in a software engineering environment
Ability to write clear, testable, and maintainable Java Script
Expertise with frontend technologies (React, JavaScript/Type Script, CSS)
Strong git/github familiarity
A proven track record of implementing, shipping and maintaining a design system
Understanding of how to version and distribute a design system, including managing CI tasks
A history of collaborative, team-based work
A history of being a technical leader
Strong communication skills and an ability to clearly explain technical topics to engineers and non-engineers alike
Experience and passion for accessibility
A strong ability to set priorities and scope work based on user feedback
Little need for direct oversight

Nice to haves:

Experience w/ a variety of frontend frameworks and/or Native Web Components
Strong familiarity with Figma
Understanding of how to leverage emerging Web Platform technologies effectively for use within the design system
