Compensation$0.75 – $0.90 per minute
Position OverviewThe Danish Telephone Interpreter handles on‑demand calls, translating conversations between Danish and English speakers across a broad range of industries including healthcare, government, insurance, finance, utilities, travel & hospitality, general business, law enforcement, court, and 911. The interpreter must respond promptly, render accurate meaning, maintain professional demeanor, and adhere to industry protocol.
Essential Job Functions- Respond to interpretation sessions promptly and conduct interpretation in a friendly, professional manner.
- Render correct concepts and meanings according to established interpretation protocol.
- Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation, enunciation, and polite expressions.
- Maintain a professional demeanor throughout all sessions.
- Remain calm during sessions, especially in emergency situations such as 911 calls.
- Maintain punctuality and availability during work hours.
- Follow client instructions and comply with protocol to meet client expectations.
- Understand protocol and terminology for various industries including medical, insurance, finance, and law.
- Demonstrate commitment to cultural sensitivity and work in a diverse environment.
- Handle calls that may be highly emotional and/or stressful, remaining on the call for extended periods without breaks if required.
- Fluency in Danish and English with strong cultural competency.
- Excellent listening, retention, and note‑taking skills.
- Ability to concentrate, stay detached from conversation, remain neutral and objective.
- Experience or education in language‑related fields (teaching, translation, interpretation) preferred.
- At least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States without future visa sponsorship.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and write the requested languages highly preferred.
- Must be able to adapt to any LLS technology enhancements to improve service delivery.
- Dedicated personal device for business purposes (desktop/laptop, tablet, or smartphone).
- Operating system:
Windows, macOS, or Chrome
OS (tablets: iPadOS or Android; smartphones: iOS or Android). - High‑speed Internet connection: download ≥5
Mbps, upload ≥3
Mbps, ping ≤300ms, jitter ≤30ms. - No background noise or distraction; access to a quiet space.
- Operate keyboard and mouse, remain stationary in front of a computer for most of the day.
- Operate company‑provided software and systems.
- Sufficient manual dexterity to type or write.
- Able to lift up to 26lbs.
- May be exposed to moderate noise levels (computer, audio, telephone).
