Overview
Position Summary... What you'll do:
Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates, touring stores, and providing feedback. Communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, provides clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions, and communicates business objectives to teams. Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model, and manages customer service initiatives such as store outreach and community programs.
Develops and implements action plans to correct deficiencies, provides process improvement leadership, and ensures a high quality customer experience.
Drives the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating P/L statements, managing and assisting in budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses. Ensures alignment to sales, monitors merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes, and develops plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.
Responsibilities- Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, recognition, and promoting a sense of belonging; recruits and develops qualified associates to meet staffing needs and growth goals.
- Coordinates and oversees job-related activities by developing relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives, identifying goals, building accountability, measuring progress, and promoting continuous learning.
- Ensures compliance with company policies and supports mission, values, ethics, and integrity by applying Open Door Policy and guiding business processes and practices.
- Leads with respect for the individual by building high-performing teams, embracing differences, and fostering a culture where associates feel seen, supported, and connected.
- Acts with integrity, serves customers, and makes data-driven decisions while balancing short- and long-term priorities and considering customers, associates, shareholders, suppliers, partners, and communities.
- Strives for excellence by fostering curiosity, taking calculated risks, encouraging learning from mistakes, and supporting adoption of new technologies and skills.

- Minimum Qualifications — 2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearm-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training may be required.
For facilities that sell only ammunition and have state-specific requirements, a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required.
Associates must attend and complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings). - Preferred Qualifications — Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University;
Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University; experience supervising 5 or more direct reports including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
