Material Handling Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Set daily, weekly, and monthly objectives for the team.
• Work directly with operations, logistics management, and supply‑chain teams to ensure timely and accurate material movements that meet production schedules and customer requirements.
• Monitor employee output and engagement, coaching team members, training new hires, and supporting resolution of logistical constraints.
• Maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
• Set goals with each direct and indirect report that align with the annual logistics plan.
• Assist with interviewing and hiring processes for warehouse and shipping personnel.
• Ensure logistics staff meet or exceed material‑movement and inventory‑accuracy goals on a weekly basis.
• Document and submit all equipment or tool issues to the appropriate parties.
• Participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives, including 6S systems throughout the warehouse.
• Adhere to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 certification requirements.
• Support and manage cost‑reduction efforts to continually lower manufacturing costs.
• Participate in and support all improvement methods used to enhance logistics and operations.
• Initiate and maintain periodic reporting to upper management on various metrics and KPIs.
• Interact with and manage transfer and shipping orders within ERP and Process Weaver systems.

• Strong understanding of logistics, operations, team behavior, and management.
• Forward and long‑range strategic thinker capable of planning projects 2 years ahead.
• Excellent communication skills, active listening, and treating all people with respect and fairness.
• Clear understanding of how decisions impact the company’s stability and profitability.
• Expertise with SAP or similar ERP systems.
• Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.

• At least 5 years of supervising experience in an integrated material‑handling or shipping environment, with proficiency in all aspects of warehouse operations.
• Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in logistics execution and transportation planning.

• Typical factory environment with exposure to heat in production areas.
• Hearing, sight, and foot protection required.
• Capable of viewing computer information for extended periods.
• Must be able to walk, stretch, bend, stoop, squat, and twist repeatedly during a shift without assistance.
• Eye‑hand coordination and manual dexterity required with fine motor skills.
• Ability to read and follow instructions, blueprints, and communicate clearly at all levels of personnel and coworkers.
