Overview
ECI Solutions is seeking a Director, Trade Shows & Events to lead our global events strategy and execution—driving customer engagement, employee culture, brand visibility, and strategic business outcomes through exceptional in-person experiences. This role owns the events portfolio end-to-end, from strategy and creative direction through logistics, execution, measurement, and continuous improvement. You
022ll collaborate closely with Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Product, executive leadership, and your team to deliver high-profile events that strengthen customer relationships, energize our workforce, and reinforce our brand.
Location:
Remote (US-based)
Travel:
Up to 30% (customer events, employee gatherings, strategic meetings)
- Set and lead events strategy:
Build and execute an annual events roadmap aligned to company objectives—customer retention/expansion, employee engagement, new system sales, and executive visibility. - Own the high-profile events portfolio:
Manage flagship customer conferences, employee summits, and team offsites. - Deliver measurable impact:
Define event KPIs (attendance, engagement, NPS/CSAT, customer retention/expansion influence, employee sentiment, new leads) and report results to leadership. - Lead cross-functional execution:
Partner with Sales, Customer Success, Product, HR, and executive teams to ensure the right messaging, speakers, attendee experience, and business outcomes. - Budget and vendor management:
Own the events budget, negotiate contracts, manage agencies/production partners, venues, AV, catering, and logistics. - Elevate brand and experience:
Set creative direction and craft memorable attendee journeys—from invitation through on-site experience to post-event engagement. - Operational excellence:
Build scalable playbooks, timelines, risk management plans, and post-mortems; ensure flawless execution and continuous improvement. - Team leadership:
Hire, coach, and develop a team (events coordinators/managers); create a culture of accountability, ownership, and innovation.
- 8–12+ years in events marketing/event management, including ownership of multi-event portfolios
- 3+ years managing and developing teams (direct reports)
- Proven success creating high-profile, high-touch events that drive measurable business impact (customer retention, expansion, employee engagement)
- Strong experience with customer conferences, executive events, and employee/company culture events
- Deep vendor/agency management experience and strong contract negotiation skills
- Excellent stakeholder management and executive presence; comfortable presenting strategy and results to C-suite
- Strong operational skills: budgets, timelines, risk planning, logistics, and post-event analytics
- Familiarity with common event and marketing tools:
Cvent/Splash, Salesforce, Marketo/Hub Spot, webinar platforms, survey/NPS tools
- Experience in B2B SaaS and/or technology-enabled services
- Experience managing customer advisory boards or executive round tables
- International event experience or multi-region planning
- Customer retention and expansion influence from events
- MQLs, pipeline, and closed revenue
- Attendance rate, engagement, and NPS/CSAT
- Employee engagement and sentiment from company events
- Cost efficiency: cost per attendee, budget adherence
- Operational excellence: on-time delivery, issue rate, vendor performance, repeatable playbooks
