Position: Chemical Operator

Pine Bluff, AR, USA
Shift: 8 hours per day - Monday to Friday - 7am - 3pm (timings may vary due to production schedule)
Reports to: Plant Manager
Compensation: $26.53 per hour (U.S.)

About this Role and About YouThis job is diverse in the mechanical ability to perform general plant operator duties. The Chemical Operator is an integral part of our production team and will be responsible for the overall chemical production process. This will include weighing, mixing chemical ingredients, monitoring equipment and the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate will be attentive, knowledgeable, and have a desire to work with other production team members to develop the best processes and products.
Qualifications- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum 1+ years of experience working in chemical manufacturing or manufacturing/production.
- Experience working with forklifts preferred.
- Proficiency using Microsoft programs, maintenance management systems and email.
- Aptitude for mechanics.
- Willingness to comply with safety and quality regulations, including wearing protective gear when necessary.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs or more.
- Perform chemical manufacturing operations in a safe and effective manner.
- Record information such as ingredients, weights, and temperature, and input it into database.
- Monitor and control pressure and temperature of chemical process equipment.
- Operate plant equipment as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Handle, transport and process chemicals safely.
- Document plant processes and record production data.
- Operate tank trucks and railcar vessels opening, loading and unloading of product, operate pumps, piping and valves.
- Troubleshoot issues with production equipment and processes.
- Maintain plant inventory records.
- Operate mobile equipment:
Backhoe, Track mobile, Forklifts, and other mobile equipment. - Perform daily housekeeping duties and maintain plant upkeep.
- Chemical manufacturing plant producing liquid alum, ACH and PAC chemicals.
- Physical capability of performing tasks in 100°F ambient temperatures while wearing protective personal protective equipment.
- Requires climbing stairs and ladders and lifting within OSHA guidelines.
- Exposed to outside elements, radiant heat or cold, and rotating shifts.
- Follow all plant safety guidelines such as confined space, working with heights, management of change, hot work and operating procedures.
- Work scheduled 8-hour days with intermittent 14-16 hour days for emergency operations/repairs.
