Pellet Mill Operator

Responsibilities

• Analyze and determine proper set points and adjustments for the equipment.
• Perform proper startup and shutdown processes for the equipment.
• Prepare a detailed shift report with the control room operator.
• Maintain effective daily communication with maintenance.
• Perform and document required inspections of equipment.
• Analyze equipment performance and make necessary tooling changes.
• Ensure all work is performed in a timely and safe manner.
• Maintain all equipment, tools, and workstations.
• Utilize skills to improve equipment optimization and reliability.
• Maintain logs and record labor, materials, and equipment used.
• Effectively communicate all equipment deficiencies to team members and management.
• Pay meticulous attention to detail; follow written and verbal instructions.
• Participate in breakdown analysis, root cause analysis, focused improvement, and 5S projects.
• Ensure workers adhere to local, state, and federal codes and regulations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent education; trade school or college preferred.
• One year of in‑plant manufacturing experience.
• Ability to work independently and apply critical problem‑solving and decision‑making skills to generate and implement solutions throughout the process.
• Must maintain compliance with all LOTO, confined space, hot work, and working‑at‑heights policies.
• OSHA 10 training and experience.
• Ability to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical ability to walk or stand continuously, bend, squat, climb stairs, and lift items above shoulders.
• Physical ability to work outdoors, on rotating shifts, and lift 50 pounds.
