Flint Group, a leading supplier to the printing and packaging industry globally, is currently seeking a dedicated Quality Manager to join our team.
As a Quality Manager at Flint Group, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring adherence to quality standards and regulations within our manufacturing operations.
The Quality Manager is responsible for the management of the site’s Quality Management System which includes upholding our International Organization for Standardization, ISO, 9001 certification, meeting quality objectives and implementing procedures or methods to ensure products meet specification. The Manager is part of the site Leadership Team and has several exempt and non-exempt employees supporting a manufacturing operation consisting of five businesses.
ResponsibilitiesThe Quality Manager will support the site by:
- Ensuring the Quality Department is properly trained and follows all safety practices.
- Managing the daily scheduling of tasks, including vacation and overtime coverage.
- Hiring qualified personnel to continue to build a strong team.
- Providing leadership and guidance for the department and the site to improve overall quality.
Work with our Customer Service Department, Operations Managers and customers to manage & establish quality expectations. - Play a vital role in developing our Continuous Improvement program.
The Quality Manager will have the following skill set:
- Excellent organization and leadership ability.
- Strong understanding of quality systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Motivator of people. Sense of urgency.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to adjust content to match audience.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills. A critical thinker.
- Desire to teach or train coworkers.
- Strong attention to detail.
The Quality Manager will have at least 3 - 5 years of related experience in an industrial manufacturing environment. The candidate will have familiarity with making critical decisions and leading people during stressful situations. Familiarity with ISO standards and root cause analysis is a must. Knowledge of American Society for Quality, ASQ, standards are a plus. Six Sigma background is also a plus.
EducationA Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is desired, but not necessary.
