Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Engineering
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform complex maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair on various circuits, components, analytical equipment, and instruments for both laboratory and manufacturing settings.
- Prepare technical reports, conduct trend analysis on equipment and processes, and assess the acceptability of products and processes using data analysis and specifications.
- Follow calibration procedures for instruments and equipment, ensuring adherence to relevant operational guidelines.
- Build and maintain equipment files for each piece of test/manufacturing equipment requiring calibration.
- Set up standards and special‑purpose laboratory equipment to test, evaluate, and calibrate other instruments and test equipment.
- Apply complex formulas to solve problems in measurements and calibrations.
- Support engineers in assessing plans and procedures to uphold the precision and accuracy of measuring, recording, and indicating instruments and equipment.
- Examine failures and assess the suitability of products and processes, ensuring all tasks are carried out according to SOPs.
- Document investigation findings and assist with the development and implementation of technically defensible calibration procedures.
- Follow procedures for performing steam sterilization studies for sterilization vessels.
- Train fellow employees in the calibration department to allow for cross‑training of responsibilities.
- Communicate with vendors and send out purchase orders for items that are externally calibrated.
- Serve as a technical resource on metrology issues and assist in coordinating and scheduling the routine preventative maintenance of the department and calibration technicians.
- Associate degree or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school.
- 5 or more years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated judgment and initiative in problem resolution.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of instrument capabilities/limitations and factors affecting their use is preferred.

CompensationThe estimated base salary for this position is $44,800 - $56,000 annually. Compensation is based on location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
