Job Summary
The Registered Nurse in Interventional Radiology (IR RN) is responsible for preparing patients for IR procedures, assisting with imaging equipment setup, administering medications including IV infusions and sedation, monitoring patient vital signs during procedures, and supporting post-procedure recovery. This role requires strong clinical skills, patient communication, and collaboration with the healthcare team. A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience and certifications in BLS and ACLS are required.
Responsibilities- Prepare patients for interventional radiology procedures through thorough assessments and patient education to reduce anxiety.
- Assist with the setup and operation of imaging equipment such as CT scanners and maintain sterile technique during invasive procedures.
- Administer medications including IV infusions, sedation, and Botulinum toxin treatments as ordered by physicians.
- Continuously monitor patient vital signs during procedures and respond promptly to any adverse changes.
- Support post-procedure recovery by assessing patient status, managing pain, and providing discharge instructions.
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
- Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, preferably in interventional radiology or related clinical settings.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Clinical skills in patient assessment, medication administration, and monitoring.
- Strong communication and patient education abilities.
- Experience with interventional radiology procedures and imaging equipment.
- Familiarity with sedation protocols and administration of specialty medications such as Botulinum toxin.
- Ability to work in a procedure-based environment requiring sterile technique.
- Shift includes day hours from 8 AM to 6 PM.
- Must be able to respond quickly to patient changes during procedures.
- Day shift from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
- Shifts assigned according to departmental needs within the specified hours.
