PATIENT NAVIGATOR - JONES DUNKLIN CANCER CENTER - FT

Full Time Non-Management Jefferson Regional Infusion Center, Pine Bluff, AR, US

What You Should Know About the Patient Navigator:
  • Monday
    - Friday:
    Typical hours 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. No weekends or call.
  • This position is based within Jefferson Regional Oncology Practice Clinic
Job Summary:

The oncology patient navigator is a clinician who provides assistance to patients, families and caregivers to overcome barriers within the healthcare system. The navigator facilitates access to all available resources the patient may need for support. This role acts as a single point of contact between the patient, caregivers and clinical staff and coordinates appointments between the various departments.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Graduate for an accredited nursing program required. Graduate from an accredited advanced practice nursing program preferred.
  • Current RN license with the Arkansas State Board of Nursing required. Preferred APRN Licensure with the Arkansas State Board of Nursing by passing either the AANP, ANCC, or AACN certification exams.
  • Chemotherapy Certification preferred.
  • Regulatory Requirements: BLS required upon hire or obtain within 30 days of hire, ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
  • This is a safety sensitive position.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt education to patient’s literacy level and learning style.
  • Excellent relationship skills, good teamwork, and working autonomously
  • Experience with working with multiple disciplines, preferred
  • Effective networking with providers and community resources preferred
  • Experience in oncology preferred
