Position: AIRCRAFT WIRING HARNESS TECHNICIAN TRAINER

Job Summary

The Senior Aircraft Wiring Harness Technician is the technical expert responsible for all aspects of wiring harness routing, termination, and troubleshooting. This role performs and oversees complex installations, ensures compliance with engineering and quality standards, and supports issue resolution across production activities. The position also serves as a trainer to lower-level technicians, and acts as a key liaison between production, engineering, and quality teams to support efficient program execution.

Minimum

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's degree in aviation technology, electrical engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of aircraft wiring harness installation experience across routing, termination, and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior technicians.
  • Advance knowledge of the standards of harnesses manufacturing and their installation on aircraft
  • Proven experience leading technical investigations and implementing corrective actions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present technical information clearly.
  • Expert-level technical mastery across all harness installation disciplines.
  • Leadership and mentoring of a multi-level technical team.
  • Strategic quality mindset with proactive approach to defect prevention.
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration with engineering, quality, and program management.
  • Continuous improvement orientation and ability to drive change.
  • Strong professional judgment and technical decision-making.
  • Must be able to pass visual test including color blindness
Additional Desired Qualifications
  • FAA A&P certificate.
  • Formal training or experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or AS9100 Quality Management.
  • Experience applying adhesive materials.
  • Experience using air tools and equipment.
Working Conditions
  • Work location for this position is mainly in a climate-controlled hangar with occasional outside work.
  • Able to enter or exit aircraft work stands in a safe manner.
  • Able to work from adjustable height stands in a safe manner and be able to climb steps to approximately 25 feet in height, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and awkward positions within aircraft structures.
Principal Duties/Responsibilities (essential Functions)
  • Performs all wiring harness installation, termination, and troubleshooting activities at the highest level of complexity, ensuring compliance with engineering, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Performs advanced and complex installations and rework across all aircraft zones and platforms (interior and exterior), including cross-functional tasks and completion of outstanding Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) deliverables.
  • Serves as the primary technical authority and mentor to Technicians I–III, coaching, competency assessments, and leadership support, including functioning as the backup Team Leader when required.
  • Acts as Subject Matter Expert (SME) during customer audits, quality surveillance, and regulatory inspections (e.g., FAA/EASA), representing the technical integrity of harness installation processes.
  • Drives root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for quality escapes and non-conformances, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure sustainable resolution.
  • Partners with engineering to influence harness design for manufacturability, serviceability, and efficiency, while supporting program planning, labor estimating, and risk identification for new aircraft programs.
  • Demonstrates the ability to complete all standard and specialty installations independently, while consistently meeting or exceeding expectations for safety, quality, schedule, cost, and engagement.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of all work in production systems and planning logs, ensuring traceability and compliance.
  • Ensures strict adherence to OSHA and company safety standards, maintains a clean work environment, controls Foreign Object Debris (FOD), and protects aircraft components at all times.
  • Champions continuous improvement initiatives by recommending production enhancements, supporting process optimization, and driving performance aligned with program goals and milestones.
