C&M Crew Leader – Pine Bluff, AR

Plans, directs, schedules, performs, and checks all work in connection with construction and maintenance of gas distribution system.

Performs field operations including manual labor necessary for installation, repair, construction, and maintenance of natural gas distribution systems.

• Leads and directs all gas distribution work for a construction crew.
• Installs, repairs, or replaces steel and plastic pipe.
• Trains, coaches, and monitors crew members.
• Locates gas lines and ensures that other utility lines are located prior to excavation.
• Ensures the quality of all plastic and steel welding performed by crew members.
• Transports required equipment, tools, and supplies to the work site.
• Provides first responder assistance in emergency situations.
• Completes required paperwork.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent knowledge of English, mathematics, punctuation, grammar, and spelling.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in construction, installation, and maintenance of natural gas distribution systems, including:
  two (2) years of welding (steel) pipe experience and two (2) years of plastic fusion experience.
• Commercial driver’s license (Class
  
  A) and a clean driving record.
• Company welding certification.

• Valid state Class A commercial driver’s license and maintained good driving record.
• Knowledge of industry and company safety standards and regulations and holds others accountable for compliance.
• Ability to use and train others on the proper tools for any given job.
• Maintain corporate plastic fusion and welding certifications.
• Perform gas meter resets and relights.
• Use company’s mapping system effectively.
• Completes paperwork as required.
• Self‑motivated, accomplishes tasks and achieves goals with minimal supervision.
• Responds well to changing priorities.
• Solves problems with logical solutions.
• Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.
• Works independently or as part of a team to accomplish assignments and objectives.
• Performs plugging, tapping, and plastic fusion procedures.
• Operates heavy equipment such as backhoe, trencher, and a two‑ton or larger truck.
• Basic mechanical aptitude.
• Utilizes personal computer skills, SAP, and mobile data completion.
• Commit to compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Adheres to the company’s ethics and compliance code of conduct and other policies.
• Respects all individuals and consistently upholds company values and business practices.
• Provides training and development for field activities to crew members.

The position is covered under the D.O.T. regulations and Summit Utilities Drug and Alcohol Policy and is subject to all terms, including random drug testing.
