. - In this unique setting, daily interactions with a diverse clientele, including hospital staff, physicians, and visitors, are expected.
The Hospital HVAC Mechanic is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems within the hospital. This role ensures that all HVAC systems function efficiently to provide a comfortable and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The HVAC Mechanic must possess strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly.
This position is critical to maintaining the hospital’s climate control and air quality standards.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of experience in HVAC maintenance and repair, preferably in a commercial or institutional setting.
- 5+ years’ experience in HVAC systems, preferably in the healthcare setting.
- Arkansas class A, B, or C HVACR- preferred.
- Experience with HVAC systems that are uniquely designed for healthcare environments, such as those used in operating rooms, patient rooms, and laboratories.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements for hospital HVAC systems, such as those from the Joint Commission, ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers), and NFPA (National Fire Protection Association).
- Proficiency in installing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of HVAC systems, including air handlers, chillers, boilers, and refrigeration units.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills to quickly identify and fix issues with HVAC systems.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, as many HVAC systems are integrated with electrical controls.
- Understanding safety protocols and regulations.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
