We are seeking a Network Technician to join our team supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs LAN CCT Nationwide. • Unboxing equipment
• Preparing equipment for installation
• Preparing equipment for configuration
• Transporting new equipment to the install location
• Removing old equipment
• Patching cables to new equipment
• Transporting old equipment
• Sorting old equipment into piles as per onsite staff guidance
• Racking equipment based on established procedures and design
• Connecting all cabling and peripherals to network switches
• Understanding the types of equipment and connectors required for switch installation
• Understanding fiber optic cabling types and connection methods
• Labeling cabling using established methods and procedures
• Troubleshooting layer1 connectivity issues
• Understanding basic power requirements for equipment being installed versus replaced
• Understanding how to replace equipment with minimal service interruption
• Creating and updating documentation
• Cleaning up the work area (sweep, remove trash, etc.)
• Providing before‑and‑after pictures of installation areas, including racks, close‑up switch shots, and full rack views
• Lifting 50–75lbs and being able to rack/unrack a network switch
• Driving between local site locations (driver’s license required)
• Submitting daily activity reports
• Performing and documenting inventory (equipment & tools)
• Understanding cable management practices

• A minimum of 1year of experience
• Successful passing of the VA High‑Bi background check
• Valid state driver’s license with proof of insurance
• Successful passing of drug screening
• Completion and passing of two‑stage TB testing
• At least 21years of age
• Residence in the continental United States
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% of the time
• U.S. citizenship
• Successful passing of a Veterans Affairs background check

Regularly required to lift up to 10lbs, frequently up to 25lbs and up to 50lbs; stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; use hands to handle, touch, and reach; talk and hear; visual requirements include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and adjustment of focus.
