Job Summary
Position:
Industrial Maintenance Reliability Tech I-III
Location:
Pine Bluff, AR
Wage: $28.78 – $41.97 per hour (based on education and experience)
Shift: 1st shift (with overtime as needed)

Responsibilities- Understand and comply with safety policies and procedures.
- Perform all tasks in a safe manner and set the standard for safe behavior.
- Look out for co‑workers’ safety and be an active owner of the safety improvement process.
- Proactively maintain, improve, install, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, robotic/automation, hydraulic, pneumatic, and steam systems and processes.
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain AC and DC drives and motors.
- Effectively troubleshoot PLC programs and, as required, modify or write PLC code.
- Perform welding, fabrication, and installation of electrical, piping, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment as required by location.
- Use machining and shop equipment (lathes, drills, milling machines, etc.) to perform shop work.
- Safely troubleshoot and assess equipment issues or failures and implement effective corrective action.
- Conduct root cause analysis and follow up to ensure the best corrective action is taken.
- Ensure corrective actions minimize the risk of repeat failures.
- Assist in developing and modifying procedures to drive zero failure.
- Lead the proactive maintenance effort to eliminate unplanned failures.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance tasks and procedures.
- Participate in developing and optimizing preventive/predictive maintenance procedures.
- Communicate with operations personnel to resolve abnormal or degraded equipment conditions that affect safety, quality, or productivity.
- Help develop operator skill sets for asset ownership and care at the operator level.
- Document all maintenance activity in the Computerized Maintenance Management System to build an accurate asset history database.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment inspection, lubrication, and access for new and existing equipment.
- Select and use the proper tools for each job.
- Meet or exceed housekeeping and 5S standards in all maintenance areas and personal ownership areas.
- Senior IMRTs will serve in a Lead or Maintenance Planner role as required by the location.
- Minimum education:
High school diploma (preferably with a vocational focus). - Preferred education:
Associate’s degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field. - Minimum experience:
- IMRT I – 4+ years
- IMRT II – 6+ years
- IMRT III – 8+ years
- IMRT Sr – 10+ years
- Competency in the skills listed in the IMRT classification matrix (I, II, III, and Sr).
- Technical knowledge to maintain, improve, install, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, robotic/automation, hydraulic, pneumatic, and steam systems and processes.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical schematics, including PLC logic.
- Experience performing electrical work in compliance with NFPA 70E.
- Welding skill level appropriate for the specific Sonoco location.
- Machining/fabrication skill level appropriate for the specific Sonoco location.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficiency in using a CMMS.
- Ability to adapt to and help lead change.
- Ability to master and employ new skills for new processes, technology, or advancement opportunities.
