The Pine Hill Board of Education announces the following openings:
Overbrook High School, within the Pine Hill School District, is searching for a teacher for our Alternative School, the Achieve Program, for the school year.
The Pine Hill School District recognizes the fact that not all students progress, learn, or reach their full potential in a traditional classroom environment, but still need reinforcement around self-efficacy, positive self-esteem, and an awareness that their education is valuable and attainable. The OHS Achieve Program was designed to meet the needs of these non-traditional students to mitigate the effects of disaffection and disruption.
In the OHS Achieve Program, each student is guided individually by committed staff members to meet his/her needs and direct his/her goals to a successful completion.
The OHS Achieve Program provides education to approximately twenty students.
The successful candidate will be part of a team of two teachers, an administrator, and a counselor who are dedicated to the program.
The successful candidate must hold a New Jersey Certificate of Eligibility or Standard Certificate to teach any subject area in Grades 9-12.
The Achieve Program for students runs from 9:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. daily.
The position is currently a full-time teaching position, although the district is able to be flexible around part-time requests.
Salary:
Step C, $58,757 (Negotiable With Experience)(Pending PHEA Contract Negotiations)
