WCE EMS Instructor

Sandhills Community College seeks a dedicated full-time EMS Instructor.

The instructor will prepare and deliver high-quality didactic and laboratory instruction consistent with the National EMS Education Standards and National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) requirements, while upholding Sandhills Community College’s standards of instructional excellence.

• Provide effective and high-quality EMS instruction which aligns with certification standards and SCC instructional requirements.
• Maintain accurate course records and submit college reports in a timely fashion.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
• Maintain positive and professional interpersonal relationships with students, faculty, staff and administration at the college.
• Respond to emails from students, colleagues, Directors, Deans, Vice Provost, Provost, and President in a timely and professional fashion.
• Demonstrate college-wide competencies of Integrity, Excellence, Respect, Opportunity, and Helpfulness.

• Minimum of three years of work experience in EMS.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Working knowledge/utilization of word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software applications.
• Current certifications of HCP, ACLS, PALS, and ITLS/PHTLS Instructor.
• Associate’s degree in a field appropriate for the position.
• Certification as an EMT Paramedic Level I Instructor within a year of employment.
• Experience teaching at the community college level.

• Certification as an EMT Paramedic Level I or II Instructor.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• 5 or more years of work experience in EMS.
• Evidence of being detail-oriented.
• Evidence of effective problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Evidence of a career that includes a strong work ethic with a proven track record of project completion, multi-tasking, and the ability to handle high-pressure environments.
• Evidence of a willingness to accept responsibility for professional and personal growth.
