Sandhills Community College seeks a dedicated full-time EMS Instructor.
The instructor will prepare and deliver high-quality didactic and laboratory instruction consistent with the National EMS Education Standards and National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) requirements, while upholding Sandhills Community College’s standards of instructional excellence.

Duties and Responsibilities- Provide effective and high-quality EMS instruction which aligns with certification standards and SCC instructional requirements.
- Maintain accurate course records and submit college reports in a timely fashion.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
- Maintain positive and professional interpersonal relationships with students, faculty, staff and administration at the college.
- Respond to emails from students, colleagues, Directors, Deans, Vice Provost, Provost, and President in a timely and professional fashion.
- Demonstrate college-wide competencies of Integrity, Excellence, Respect, Opportunity, and Helpfulness.
Education and Experience
- Minimum of three years of work experience in EMS.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Working knowledge/utilization of word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software applications.
- Current certifications of HCP, ACLS, PALS, and ITLS/PHTLS Instructor.
- Associate’s degree in a field appropriate for the position.
- Certification as an EMT Paramedic Level I Instructor within a year of employment.
- Experience teaching at the community college level.
Education and Experience
- Certification as an EMT Paramedic Level I or II Instructor.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- 5 or more years of work experience in EMS.
- Evidence of being detail-oriented.
- Evidence of effective problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Evidence of a career that includes a strong work ethic with a proven track record of project completion, multi-tasking, and the ability to handle high-pressure environments.
- Evidence of a willingness to accept responsibility for professional and personal growth.
