Summary

The Writing & Speaking Lab Teaching Assistant will lead staffers in The Writing & Speaking Lab to ensure that daily operations run smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities include greeting and assisting students, supporting writing assignments, and completing clerical and administrative duties. The Writing & Speaking Lab Teaching Assistant will work under the guidance of the Tutoring Coordinator to maintain a welcoming, student-centered environment that promotes academic success.

Essential

Functions
  • Answer incoming calls and emails in a professional and timely manner.
  • Welcome and assist individuals who enter The Writing & Speaking Lab.
  • Assist students with the check-in and check-out process.
  • Help students with writing and speaking assignments and related academic support needs.
  • Promote the services and resources available through The Writing & Speaking Lab.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment.
  • Support daily operations and assist with clerical and other duties as assigned, including generating referrals and reports, and scheduling student workers.
  • Provide leadership and support to Writing & Speaking Lab staffers to ensure efficient operations.

  • Minimum of an associate degree
