The Part-Time Instructor in Electromechanical Systems Technology is responsible for providing high-quality instruction and supporting delivery of Workforce Continuing Education and Curriculum pathways related to electromechanical and industrial systems.
Instruction may include computer hardware systems, mechanical systems, electrical and electronic systems, automation, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), maintenance, troubleshooting, and related technical disciplines using applied and hands-on learning approaches.
Instructional assignments may vary based on departmental and programmatic needs.
Instruction & Student Learning- Teach assigned curriculum courses in electromechanical systems, including but not limited to:
- Machine processes and mechanical systems
- Electrical and electronic systems, equipment maintenance, and controls
- Programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation systems
- Troubleshooting and integration of electromechanical system
- Maintain instructional excellence through effective course organization, delivery, and assessment
- Develop and update course materials to reflect current industry standards and practices
- Utilize instructional technologies and hands‑on lab activities to support student learning
- Maintain accurate and timely student records, including attendance, grades, and communication
- Support the implementation and delivery of the Electromechanical Systems pathways
- Participate in course planning and implementation efforts as requested
- Support maintenance of laboratory environments, including equipment setup, and safety compliance
- Support student recruitment, retention, and completion initiatives
- Maintain current knowledge of emerging technologies in electromechanical systems, automation, and industrial maintenance
- Support development of work‑based learning and employer engagement opportunities as assigned
- Participate in departmental, divisional, and college meetings and activities
- Support the College’s mission, strategic plan, and One College Model initiatives
- Associate degree in Electromechanical Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Systems, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a closely related field
- Demonstrated experience in electromechanical, industrial, manufacturing, computer hardware, automation, maintenance, or related technical environments
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively teach and engage a diverse student population
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electromechanical Technology, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or a closely related field
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), automation systems, and industrial troubleshooting
- Teaching or training experience in a community college, technical school, or industry setting
- Industry‑recognized certifications related to electromechanical systems, electrical maintenance, automation, or manufacturing
