Event Manager / Planner, Event Staff/ Venue Crew
Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes weekends, evenings, nights and holidays.
This is an on-call position with no guarantee of hours worked.
Under the general direction of the Special Events Coordinator, assists in scheduling, preparing for, and managing events scheduled for the Fair Barn. An employee in this class is responsible for assisting with development, promotion and organization of the Fair Barn events. Work includes promoting and booking rentals, providing technical and logistical support for events and activities of the Fair Barn. Work involves extensive public contact requiring tact and courtesy.
This employee is primarily subject to inside environmental conditions similar to that found in a banquet hall or large restaurant. Some work may be performed outdoors. Work is performed under the supervision of the Special Events Coordinator but may be assigned to other teams if needed. Ability to work weekends, evenings and holidays and a flexible schedule is required.

Responsibilities- Works with clients/customers to arrange and follow through on all details of event operations as assigned.
- Follow-up on customer inquiries, provide facility tours as directed.
- Communicates with client renters.
- Secures facility after each event including locking all doors and windows, turning off all lights, etc.
- Provides information regarding external services available for event planning such as florists, caterers, entertainment, etc.
- Informs supervisor of customer complaints including details of each situation and external vendors involved if appropriate.
- Resolves customer complaints with input from the Special Events Coordinator as needed.
- Performs other assignments and special projects as required.
- Must be able to report to work promptly and when scheduled.
- Attention to detail in the planning, implementing and follow through on all aspects of event management.
- Project a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and timelines.
- Must possess a high level of customer service skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, staff, peers and management.

This position requires enforcing and following all Village of Pinehurst and OSHA safety regulations.
Physical Requirements- Effective visual perception is needed for making observations including distinguishing colors, performing visual and physical inspections of event set-up, use of measurement devices. Work is performed at various dates, times and locations, based on business need.
- While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, climbing ladders and stairs, bending, kneeling, speaking, hearing and manual dexterity to arrange small details of event set-up.
- Must be able to perform moderate work exerting up to 25 lbs. of force, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
High school degree. Additional education and/or experience in the hospitality or events industry is preferred.
