Overview
The Asset Management Specialist will work with technical staff, IS Management and key personnel from other departments to manage the IS equipment life cycle. The Asset Management Specialist will work closely with First Health of the Carolinas Purchasing, Receiving, IS technical and operations staff, and Finance to provide appropriate IS asset procurement and tracking practices.

- Evaluates, researches, and coordinates the procurement process for all equipment or services with IS management and staff.
- Reviews and resolves all issues concerning shipments, deliveries, shortages, substitutions, returns, price discrepancies, payment terms, and shipping charges from IT vendors in conjunction with purchasing/materials management.
- Coordinates the IS asset management processes to ensure that assets are tracked appropriately. Works with Finance to reconcile assets in the fixed asset system.
- Coordinates the receiving, tagging, and tracking of IT equipment and assets.
- Coordinates equipment end-of-life equipment recycling, donation or disposal according to First Health policy.
- Maintains IS standard equipment inventory levels to reduce departmental costs and organizes safe and secure equipment storage areas for Information Systems at specified locations across First Health.
- Performs detailed cost analyses, documents the findings in an accurate and concise manner, and communicates conclusions in an articulate manner.
- Works with Directors, IS Analysts and departmental leadership to manage printing, scanning, and faxing.
- Other duties related to asset management are as determined by Director.
Education and Formal Training:
Associate degree in Computer Science or Business-related field or comparable experience required. Training in procurement, asset management, and business software is required.
Work Experience:
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in asset management or purchasing in an information systems department required or comparable work experience required. Project management experience in the information systems department and experience with inventory management tools and processes preferred.
