Requirements:

• Valid NC RN License or Compact State RN License
• Heart experience preferred
• ACLS and BCLS certification

The CVT is an 18-bed acuity adaptable unit specializing in cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, and management of intra-aortic balloon pumps and Impella devices. Nurses develop strong assessment skills and become experts in managing drip titrations, chest tubes, and ventilators. With the acuity adaptable approach, nurses manage care of patients requiring open-heart surgery from admission through discharge. This setting promotes efficient patient care and strengthens nurse-patient relationships.

Nurses are required to obtain and maintain ACLS certification.
