Executive Director of Behavioral Health (Nursing/Registered Nurse) – Pinehurst, NC

Horizon Health is seeking an Executive Director of Behavioral Health (Nursing) to oversee the Behavioral Health Program at First Health Moore Regional Health in Pinehurst, NC. The unit is a 28‑bed adult/dual‑diagnosis program. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining a high‑quality treatment program, implementing a comprehensive community relations program, and strategic planning, program administration, and development.

• Serve as liaison between the Program, Hospital, and Horizon, communicating information and needs appropriately.
• Support Hospital and Horizon missions, goals and objectives.
• Provide leadership and direction in accordance with Hospital guidelines.
• Offer clinical supervision for Program nursing, counseling, patient support, and administrative staff.
• Develop, in coordination with the assigned VP, Clinical Practice, all policies and procedures for the Program and keep them updated.
• Ensure the Program meets and maintains all federal, state, local, and accrediting bodies’ regulations and standards.
• Participate in assessing and reassessing the program needs of patients.
• Supervise patient care and set guidelines for accurate reporting and recording of patient symptoms, reactions, and progress.
• Develop processes to audit and coordinate ongoing education to ensure staff are trained on proper documentation of all aspects of patient care.
• Recruit, interview, and select qualified staff for the Program.
• Provide professional growth and development opportunities for staff through identification of needs, development of individual training plans, and participation in training programs.

• Active Registered Nurse licensure in North Carolina.
• Master’s degree required; if in a field other than nursing, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required.
• CPR certification.
• Minimum five years of experience in healthcare leadership.
• Experience in an acute care mental health setting required.
