Personal Financial Counselor, Assignment Ready Counselor, PFC-Camp Beauregard, LA

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage in short‑term, surge, and on‑demand situations arising from military needs such as post‑deployment events or to cover absent counselors.
• Deliver full personal financial counseling services to military service members and families at installations, including one‑on‑one counseling, briefings, presentations, referrals, and consultation with commanders or other providers.
• Assist service members in establishing spending plans for extended absences.
• Develop and distribute informational financial materials and coordinate, publicize, and provide Personal Financial Management classes and workshops across the military lifecycle (e.g., first duty station arrival, pre‑ and post‑deployment, career events).
• Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
• Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication (web‑based chat, secure video teleconference) as authorized.
• Manage duty‑to‑warn situations in accordance with DoD protocol.
• Communicate with leadership, participate in regular supervision and training, and share information on trends and issues on assigned installations.
• Participate in in‑services, quality improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned.
• Perform any other duties related to the role as required.

• Bachelor's degree required; may consider an associate degree plus 4 years of experience or a high school diploma plus 6 years of experience.
• Minimum of 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• U.S. citizen, fluent in English; bilingual in English and Spanish if required by contract.
• Must obtain a Tier 2 investigation and pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
• Must hold one of the following certifications:
  Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).

Minimum: $58,440 | Maximum: $93,500
