We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Blending Operator to join our team at our Fittings facility in Pineville, NC. This role reports to the Compound Supervisor and is ideal for individuals who are safety-focused, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

$28.36 + 7% Shift Premium 6:30PM-6:30AM, 4 days on, 4 days off Schedule Rotation

Job Summary:

As a Blending Operator, you will operate mixers, pelletizers, material conveying systems, and related equipment used in the preparation of raw materials for pipe and fitting production. You will play a key role in maintaining product quality, production efficiency, safety standards, housekeeping, and cost control while supporting overall plant goals.

What You'll Do:
  • Production Operations:
    • Operate automated and semi-automated mixing equipment to blend materials according to production requirements.
    • Operate extrusion and pelletizing equipment to produce compounds that meet quality specifications.
    • Transfer powdered materials through pneumatic conveying systems, including railcar-to-silo and interdepartmental transfers.
    • Operate liquid transfer systems to unload tanker trucks into storage vessels.
    • Handle, measure, and add resins, carbon black, and micro-ingredients according to proprietary formulations.
    • Operate dump stations, material transfer systems, and process control equipment.
    • Verify material identification and ensure proper handling procedures are followed.
    • Monitor operating parameters to maintain product quality and production efficiency.
    • Report production issues, equipment concerns, and non-conformances, and assist with corrective actions.
    • Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other mobile lifting equipment.
  • Safety & Compliance:
    • Follow all company EH&S policies, procedures, and work instructions.
    • Wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
    • Immediately report accidents, injuries, near misses, unsafe conditions, and equipment malfunctions.
    • Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Follow lockout/tagout, hazardous materials handling, mobile equipment operation, and emergency response procedures.
    • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
What We're Looking For:
  • Required Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math calculations.
    • Previous manufacturing or industrial experience preferred.
    • Ability to safely operate or learn to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
    • Basic mechanical aptitude and experience using hand tools.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience in blending, compounding, extrusion, pelletizing, or similar manufacturing processes.
    • Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, or other mobile lifting equipment.
    • Knowledge of material handling systems and process control equipment.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
    • Frequent bending, reaching, climbing and lifting.
    • Ability to perform physically demanding work in a manufacturing environment.
    • Ability to work around dust, noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures.
    • Ability to wear required PPE throughout the shift.
