Equipment Operator I - Night Shift

DIS-TRAN Steel, located in Pineville, LA, is looking for an Equipment Operator to join their team.

• Experience operating a forklift in an industrial manufacturing facility is required.
• Perform required operator maintenance on fork trucks.
• Read and interpret typed reports and schedules.
• Inspect equipment before use.
• Adjust hand wheels and depress pedals to control attachments.
• Start engines, move throttles, switches, or levers, or depress pedals to operate machines.
• Coordinate machine actions with other activities, positioning or moving loads in response to hand or audio signals from team members.
• Load and move equipment or other materials using fork trucks or related equipment.
• Check fuel supplies at sites to ensure adequate availability.
• Monitor operations to ensure that health and safety standards are met.
• Take actions to avoid potential hazards or obstructions, such as other equipment, other workers, or falling objects.

• Working knowledge of material handling, banding, palletizing, and loading material onto trucks is preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Certifications or prior experience using moving machinery, such as forklifts, preferred.
• Ability to perform basic operator maintenance on fork trucks is required.
• Must complete on-site training and demonstrate safe operation of machinery.
• Clear Motor Vehicle Report.
• Ability to read and interpret typed reports and schedules (required).
• Learn and follow safety regulations.
