Overview
The mission of Pinecrest Supports and Services Center (PSSC) is to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in reaching treatment goals and returning to integrated community living settings. PSSC specializes in treating those with comorbid disabilities and complex medical, behavioral, and psychiatric support needs.
Position SummaryRegistered Nurse providing high‑quality care and coordinating nursing services across programs.
Responsibilities- Coordinate nursing care and perform all nursing duties required of a professional nurse, ensuring people have the best possible health.
- Lead assigned staff in accomplishing required patient care and staff activities.
- Refer people to other appropriate community agencies and physicians as necessary.
- Determine proper assignment of staff based on patient acuity of illness and provide skilled assessment, reassessment, and monitoring for people served.
- Provide nursing treatments as ordered by the physician.
- Administer medications, assess for signs and symptoms of adverse reaction, and evaluate the efficacy of medication administered. Interpret complex data related to physical assessments, skilled observation and diagnostics and implement interventions based on these interpretations.
- Evaluate nursing care delivered by other members of the nursing team in assigned area on a shift and provide on‑site directions.
- Assist in developing, reviewing, revising, and implementing nursing plans of care, ensuring that nursing plans of care are carried out by appropriate staff.
- Communicate ongoing health concerns, results of health treatment, consultations and diagnostics to the person’s interdisciplinary team. Work with the interdisciplinary team (IDT) to establish, review and revise person‑centered health objectives.
- Communicate with consultants to ensure continuity of care and provide communication to transitions teams to ensure continuity of care across the continuum of health care.
- Possession of a current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or a temporary permit or multi‑state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state to practice as a registered nurse.

Detail to Special Duty, Probation, Promotion, Demotion, or Lateral Transfer (preference may be given to permanent classified employees of PSSC).
Work schedule:
Day Shift 5:30 AM – 6:00 PM;
Night Shift 5:30 PM – 6:00 AM;
Part‑time shifts available.
Premium pay of $10.00 per hour. Shift differential, longevity pay, and additional pay options. Registered Nurse 1: $29.84–$39.01 per hour;
Registered Nurse 2: $31.93–$41.74;
Registered Nurse 3: $34.17–$44.67 per hour.
