Dis-Tran Steel is looking for an Equipment Operator to join the Receiving team. The Equipment Operator supports warehouse and plant operations by safely operating material handling equipment and ensuring materials are received, organized, and delivered efficiently. This role is based in the receiving warehouse and plays a key part in maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting production needs.
This position will also serve as an occasional backup to the Receiving function
, requiring the ability to use computer systems to process incoming materials and maintain accurate records.

- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move inventory and materials
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently
- Receive, inspect, and organize incoming materials
- Pick, pack, wrap, label, and stage orders for shipment or plant use
- Deliver materials and orders to designated locations within the plant
- Assist with receiving tasks, including entering data into inventory/receiving systems
- Verify shipments against packing slips and report discrepancies
- Maintain accurate inventory and assist with stock organization
- Ensure all materials are handled and stored properly to prevent damage
- Keep warehouse and work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
- Assist with general warehouse operations and other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED required
- 3+ years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or material handling roles preferred
- Previous experience operating equipment, such as forklifts required
- Experience with industrial or electrical materials strongly preferred
- Basic computer skills required (ability to learn inventory or receiving systems)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Solid understanding of warehouse operations, safety practices, and material handling processes
- Operate equipment safely and consistently in a fast-paced plant environment
- Support receiving operations, including accurately processing incoming materials when needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse
- Ensure accuracy when handling, moving, and documenting materials
- Support efficient material flow to and from the plant
- Follow all safety and environmental policies and procedures
- Communicate effectively with warehouse and plant teams
- Demonstrate reliability, accountability, and attention to detail
- Be adaptable and willing to step into the receiving role as needed
