Plumbing Estimator I—$85K to $130K

Salary: $85,000 – $130,000 per year

We are a full-service mechanical contracting firm with over 45 years of experience and more than 4,000 successfully completed projects across the Carolinas and beyond. Our work spans commercial plumbing and process piping, HVAC mechanical piping and equipment, HVAC sheet metal, and fire protection. Our portfolio includes landmark projects such as Spectrum Center, the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African American Arts and Culture, and Atrium Health Ballpark.

We take on projects up to $45 million across commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, and entertainment sectors.

We are a firm where your estimates directly shape the projects we win and the work we build. You will work alongside experienced professionals on complex, high‑profile commercial work in a company that has stood the test of time and continues to grow across the Carolinas.

• Prepare detailed and accurate plumbing estimates for commercial and industrial projects ranging from ground‑up new construction to tenant improvements
• Review and analyze bid documents, drawings, and specifications to develop comprehensive scopes of work
• Solicit, evaluate, and qualify subcontractor and supplier bids
• Perform material takeoffs for commercial plumbing and process piping systems
• Identify project risks, exclusions, and clarifications and communicate them clearly in bid submissions
• Collaborate with project managers and field leadership to ensure estimates align with actual construction methods and costs
• Maintain and update pricing databases, vendor relationships, and historical cost data
• Participate in pre‑bid meetings, site walks, and post‑bid interviews
• Support value engineering efforts to provide competitive and accurate bids

• 5+ years of commercial plumbing estimating experience with a mechanical contractor
• Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, process piping, and related mechanical systems
• Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications
• Proficiency in estimating software such as Trimble, Quote Soft, or similar platforms
• Familiarity with projects in the healthcare, education, industrial, or commercial sectors preferred
• Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously under deadline pressure
• North Carolina market knowledge is a plus
• Applicable U.S. based work experience
