Manufacturing Engineering/Operations Co-op - Fall 2026
The Co-op experience at Rexroth-Charlotte will consist of three rotations through the Manufacturing Operations and Engineering Functions Department. The major technical work area is further described below.
- Support and lead technical projects across multiple operational areas
- Provide day-to-day project support to individual MOE team members
- Proactively identify improvement potentials and implement optimizations ideas
- Lead and manage assigned projects in cross-functional teams
- Generate, update, and maintain technical documentation.
- Collect, organize, and analyze technical information to support continuous improvement initiatives and help troubleshoot problems in different production processes
On demand projects in other work areas could be assigned, including but not limited to:
- BPS (Bosch Production Systems) – exposure to process standardization and performance improvement;
- TEF1 (Technical Engineering Functions) – exposure to processes and detailed work instructions; investigating and troubleshooting manufacturing issues;
- TEF2 (Process Development) – exposure to cross-functional project management for large capital expenditure projects;
- TEF3 (Tool & Die/TPM) – exposure to CNC machining, tooling selection, design, and setup. TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) program creation, implementation, and sustainment.
Candidates must be actively pursuing at least a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline. Enrollment in a program that provides a solid foundation in engineering principles and problem-solving skills is required. Additionally, candidates must be available to complete three rotations as part of the program, which are integral to gaining practical experience and contributing to project success
Co-operative Education (Co-op) Program consists of three alternating full-time work rotations integrated with the student's university schedule. This structure allows participants to apply classroom knowledge to real-world engineering challenges while gaining valuable professional experience across multiple semesters.
- First Rotation: August – December 2026
- Second Rotation: May – August 2027
- Third Rotation: January – May 2028
Each rotation is a full-time, on-site assignment (40 hours per week) where students engage in hands-on technical projects, process improvements, and cross-functional collaboration. Between rotations, students return to university to continue their academic coursework.
Program Duration:
Approximately 18–20 months total, depending on university schedule alignment.
Objective:
To provide a structured pathway for students to develop technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and professional growth through direct industry involvement.
