Duration: 3–4 months
Reports To: HR Supervisor
JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented HR Intern to join our team and gain hands‑on experience in our organization. This internship is an excellent launchpad for someone looking to build a career in Human Resources. You will gain exposure to recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, HR compliance, and day‑to‑day HR operations. Working closely with our HR team, you will help support daily activities and contribute to a positive experience for both candidates and employees.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Support the HR Department with administrative/clerical duties such as recruitment activities, completion of new employee paperwork and routine correspondence.
- Provide assistance and information to associates regarding benefits information, leave of absence, workers compensation, HR policies and procedures.
- Manage the post offer candidate tracking and follow up to include pre-employment requirements are submitted and completed timely and schedule orientation.
- Prepare new hire paperwork, badges and system setup tasks.
- Coordinate and conduct new hire orientation, ensuring a smooth and positive experience.
- Facilitate the new hire onboarding process to include employee check-ins, 30-60-90-day training and review tracking.
- Complete I-9 and E-verify for all new hires in accordance with compliance guidelines.
- Assist in maintaining Human Resources records and files for QCD employees (e.g., employee status change, address change, job changes, pay rate changes, etc.) to ensure compliance with company, federal, and state regulations and policies.
- Assist in the preparation of special reports and projects, such as employee activity programs, office supplies, etc.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education/Certification:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9am - 4pm
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of (B/basic; J/journey; E/expert):
- Written and verbal communication skills (E)
- Computer skills, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word (J)
- Customer service concepts and techniques (B)
- Model GSF/QCD Creed and Values consistently with associates, peers, and leaders.
- Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner, with discretion and integrity.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Support and motivate employees in a team-based environment.
- Prepare and deliver spreadsheet/charts and Power Point presentations to employees and management.
- Communicate and coordinate effectively with employees verbally and in writing.
- Hands‑on, practical experience in a professional HR department.
- Mentorship from experienced HR professionals and leaders.
- Exposure to modern HR technology, tools, and best practices.
