Purchasing Associate

Purchasing Associate Responsibilities:

• Generate and processes purchase orders
• Approves material invoices and reconciles with the purchase order
• Maintains records of goods ordered and received
• Negotiates prices and contracts with supplier
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors
• Select prospective vendors and negotiate pricing
• Evaluates vendors based on quality, timeliness, and price
• Ensures timely fulfillment of orders
• Evaluates vendors to compare pricing and services
• Coordinates with fellow associates to monitor inventory and determine supply needs
• Works with field personnel on material changes and unforeseen needs
• Ensures quality of procured items and addresses problems when they arise
• Tracks excess and leftover materials for return or use on other projects
• Occasionally travels to vendor locations

Position Requirements Include:

• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
• Experience in wet utility construction or sales (Waterworks) required
• Experience using procurement software and databases
• Supervisory experience
• Excellent organizational skills
• Effective communication skills
• Good - Excellent computer skills
• Negotiation skills
• Interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail
• Experience with BID to Win a plus
• Experience with KOJO a plus
