Charlotte Extraction Lab, a fast-growing manufacturer at the forefront of natural products chemistry, is seeking a Analytical Chemist for running analytical instrumentation (GC, LC, NMR), supporting R&D activities, and assisting in quality control processes to join a growing chemical facility near Gastonia. You will work closely with the Plant Manager and Medicinal Chemical Consultant to ensure production quality and assist in the development of new plant-based natural products.
The role is ideal for a motivated individual eager to make an impact by supporting production, ensuring quality, and developing new chemical processes from lab scale to commercial scale.

Key Responsibilities:
Production Responsibilities
- Analyze and report quality parameters of production batches.
- Revise and develop quality control methods and procedures.
- Maintain compliance with applicable federal and state regulations; help promote a “Safety First” work culture.
- Analyze batch data to ensure compliance with QA requirements and identify potential process improvements.
- In collaboration with Plant Manager, work directly with production staff to identify and implement process optimization projects and equipment improvements.
- Work with the Senior R&D Chemist to operate and maintain analytical instruments (GC, HPLC, LCMS) for in-process and final product testing.
- Develop quantitation methods for routine sample analysis.
- Interpret data and generate Certificates of Analysis (COAs); troubleshoot and validate test results as needed.
- Collaborate with R&D on formulation improvements and new product development.
- Support regulatory compliance, including proper documentation and sample retention
- 1–2 years of experience in an analytical laboratory setting
- Experience establishing, commissioning, or scaling analytical instrumentation in a start-up environment
- Familiarity with analytical method validation, QA/QC principles, or regulated laboratory environments
- Experience writing or revising SOPs and other technical documentation
- Adaptable, mentally agile with experience switching between tasks quickly
- Enjoys a mix of routine chemical processes as well as open method development and emerging chemistry
- Demonstrated interest in research, analytical method development, and product development
