Hay Distributing is an independent distributor of Red Bull products serving retail accounts throughout North and South Carolina. Our employees work for Hay Distributing while representing the Red Bull brand in the market every day.

Our Route Sales & Delivery Trainee position is designed for someone who wants to learn our business through hands-on, paid field training .

You will primarily ride alongside experienced Account Sales Managers and learn every part of the route - sales, delivery, merchandising, customer relationships, inventory, route organization, and Red Bull execution standards. As your training progresses, you will also help support the team through route coverage, merchandising projects, store resets, and other field needs.

This position can serve as a development path into an Account Sales Manager role as routes become available and performance expectations are met. Promotion is not tied to a guaranteed timeline , and employees may also continue developing within the Field Support role.

• Train one-on-one alongside experienced Account Sales Managers in the field.
• Learn how to service retail routes from beginning to end.
• Drive company route trucks as training progresses.
• Deliver Red Bull products to retail customers.
• Enter customer orders using a handheld device.
• Unload, stock, rotate, and merchandise product.
• Stock shelves and coolers, build displays, and complete store resets.
• Learn Red Bull merchandising, distribution, and execution standards.
• Build professional relationships with store managers and customers.
• Support route coverage when Account Sales Managers are unavailable.
• Assist with merchandising projects, resets, and other market needs.
• Learn proper handling of customer payments, invoices, route paperwork, and deposits.
• Develop the independence and time‑management skills necessary to operate a route successfully.

You do not need previous route sales experience to succeed here.

Retail and grocery experience can translate especially well to this position because you already understand store environments, merchandising, customers, and the importance of getting work done efficiently.

• Must be at least 21 years old
• Must have held a full driver's license for at least 3 years ; 5+ years is preferred
• Must possess a valid driver's license and meet company MVR/insurance eligibility requirements
• Must be able to repeatedly lift and move up to 50 lbs.
• Must be comfortable handling approximately 200-300 cases of product throughout a typical day
• Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, including varying weather conditions
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background screening
• Must pass a 10-panel drug screen
• Must pass a DOT physical and obtain a DOT medical card
• No CDL required
• Driving history is reviewed as part of the pre-employment process based on company and insurance eligibility standards rather than simply requiring a completely spotless driving record. The insurance guidelines consider factors such as age, violations, and at-fault accidents over the applicable review period.
