About the Role
Imagine starting your day in a hands-on test lab where pumps of every size and configuration move through your bench. You’ll rig test setups, wire AC and DC power, and bring systems to life to help advance new products and elevate existing ones. As our Pump Systems Validation Technician, you build, service, troubleshoot, fabricate, and test pump assemblies and components—then dig into the data and the teardown to understand what happened and why.
WhatYour Day Looks Like
- Set up and execute tests against a defined lab schedule, including plumbing and wiring pumps and operating dedicated test equipment.
- Capture, tabulate, and report data using Microsoft Office tools; analyze results to inform design and product decisions.
- Fabricate custom fixtures and components to enable complex test configurations.
- Evaluate, troubleshoot, disassemble, and rebuild pumps for root-cause analysis and verification.
- Follow established work instructions—and author new ones when procedures don’t yet exist.
- Support occasional travel needs (less than 5%).
- Pitch in with other tasks that keep the lab running smoothly.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Three to five years of related experience; or an associate degree in a related field plus one to three years’ relevant experience.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to read electrical schematics and understand ladder logic.
- Working knowledge of AC/DC power systems.
- Machinist skills preferred; comfort fabricating test fixtures.
- Familiarity with pumps and pump systems.
- Clear written and verbal communication; proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Regularly lift up to 25 lbs; frequently lift up to 50 lbs (about two-thirds of the time); and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs (up to one-third of the time). Role involves reaching, stooping, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and balancing. For heavy or awkward loads, you’ll be assisted by cranes, hoists, or a forklift.
