Hartzell Propeller seeks a Machinist I to support precision manufacturing of advanced aircraft propeller components at our Piqua, Ohio facility. In this entry-level role, you will set up and operate CNC and manual machines, interpret blueprints, and use precision measuring tools to verify tight aviation tolerances. You'll follow strict safety and quality procedures while collaborating with engineers and teammates in a culture focused on craftsmanship, innovation, and continuous improvement, building reliable products that support safer, more efficient flight worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC and manual machines to produce propeller components to specification.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings.
- Use precision measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Monitor machine operations, make adjustments, and perform basic troubleshooting.
- Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and tool changes.
- Follow all safety, quality, and documentation procedures.
- Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and teammates to resolve production issues.
- Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing activities.
