Special Education Teacher

Bright Beginnings Learning Center - Public Elementary School for students Preschool to age 12 with Autism and Multiple Disabilities located at 1660 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854 is seeking a Special Education Teacher for a ten (10) month position starting September 1, 2026, pending criminal history clearance. Requirements include classroom experience with students with Autism and/or Multiple Disabilities using Applied Behavior Analysis, DOE TOSD/TOH Certificate, and ABA experience preferred.

Qualifications include New Jersey State Department of Education Certification and other qualifications the Board may find appropriate. The teacher will report to the Program Administrator designated by the Board or Superintendent. The teacher will demonstrate personal qualities, perform all duties, and fulfill all responsibilities necessary to create a sound and meaningful educational climate within the assigned instructional location(s) or school.

The teacher will plan and execute learning activities based on developed student IEP/ISIP designed to facilitate each student's progress; in compensatory education, supplemental instruction, corrective speech or language instruction, and/or English as a Second Language or special education classes. The teacher will establish efficient, clear management and techniques necessary to ensure effective operations of assigned instructional responsibilities and health and safety for students.

Specific duties and responsibilities shall include but are not limited to: instructional services to assigned students, providing ongoing coordination and communication of student progress, demonstrating a variety of teaching strategies in relationship to student learning styles, establishing and maintaining positive rapport and management in the classroom to enhance student behavior according to district policy and existing laws, maintaining professional competence, confidentiality, and demonstrating a willingness to improve performance, and participating in curricula program to enhance student learning.

Full-time staff are eligible for Medical, Prescription, and Dental Benefits. Pension system enrollment varies by position and certification. Sick, Personal, and Bereavement Days are included. Salary ranges from Step # 1 BA $60,553 to Step # 20 MA+30 $ 85,653.
