Experiential Learning And Employer Development Co-Adjunct
Career Exploration And Success seeks a highly qualified employer-relations, recruiting, or experiential-learning professional to serve as an Experiential Learning And Employer Development Co-Adjunct during the Fall semester. This is a fixed-term, three-month Class 8 non-teaching academic-support appointment focused exclusively on developing employer-provided experiential-learning and career opportunities for Rutgers–New Brunswick students.
The co-adjutant will recruit and cultivate employers that can provide internships, applied learning experiences, and full-time employment opportunities through the Rutgers Scarlet Service Internship Program (RSSI), Industry Connect, and designated career and internship fairs.
The co-adjunct is responsible for:
- Recruiting and vetting employers for approximately 120 RSSI internship experiences.
- Developing employer relationships that produce internships, applied learning experiences, and full-time employment opportunities through Industry Connect.
- Recruiting employers offering internships, experiential-learning opportunities, and entry-level positions for designated career and internship fairs.
- Evaluating prospective employer opportunities for alignment with applicable program requirements and student career-readiness objectives.
- Communicating program expectations, participation requirements, and relevant deadlines to prospective employer partners.
- Maintaining accurate records of employer outreach, employer participation, and opportunities developed.
- Coordinating with designated Career Exploration And Success staff regarding employer eligibility, recruitment progress, and program deadlines.
- Providing a final accounting of the employers recruited and the internship, experiential-learning, and full-time opportunities developed during the appointment.
The successful candidate must possess excellent employer-outreach, relationship-development, communication, and project-management skills. The candidate must be able to cultivate professional relationships independently, evaluate prospective opportunities against established program requirements, maintain accurate records, and meet time-sensitive employer-recruitment goals.
The appointment is limited to the defined employer-development and experiential-learning responsibilities described above. It does not include continuing staff responsibilities, general coordinator coverage, staff supervision, routine departmental administration, or other duties as assigned.
The workload may fluctuate according to RSSI, Industry Connect, and career-fair recruitment cycles. The appointment begins on [start date], concludes on [end date], and carries no expectation of continued employment. Any subsequent appointment is contingent upon program needs, satisfactory performance, available funding, and required university approvals.
The fixed salary for this three-month appointment is $21,176.48, subject to final university approval.
