Summary: Lab bench analytical and organoleptic testing of flavors and related ingredients.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Safety:
Comply with all safety rules and guidelines, report all potential issues. Comply with the chemical hygiene plan. Actively participate in all departmental and company safety meetings, training sessions and activities.
• Performs sample testing for production and internal labs using organoleptic, physical, and chemical analysis
• Performs performance check and/or calibration of instrumentation
• Creates specifications and records results in system software
• Initiates supplier correction action report for non-conforming raw materials
• Troubleshoots non-conforming batches including performing remedial action and electronic documentation
• Signs HACCP records and verifies integrity of CCP control device
• Commitment to Robertet and SQF Safety and Quality Standards and continuous improvement of the quality management systems.
Position Requirements:
- BS degree in Chemistry, Food Science or related field
- 0 - 2 years' experience in related discipline
Competencies:
- Proficient analytical and organoleptic skills
- Proficient oral/written/electronic communication skills
- Working knowledge of instrumentation including: spectrophotometry, density meter, refractometer, titration systems, particle size analyzer, turbidity meter, FT-NIR, GC
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
